These projects always take much longer than anticipated and by April we are really feeling the pressure. We not only have a historic vehicle to convert but we also have a business to run and customers looking for delivery on orders. Long days, and nights!.
Over the following weeks, hours and hours are spent working on the body of the vehicle, filling, rubbing down and filling again, preparing the box and cab ready for painting which is finally done with days to spare, leaving just enough time to put in the interior finishing touches: curtains, leather side panels, leather seating and bed, overhead TV/DVD player, storage cupboards, lighting, cup holders and the inserts for the cooker/sink area.
At 6.30am on Monday 23rd June, it is finished! Thirty minutes later, a lorry arrives to take the tuk tuk on location for its final filming
